It was a very successful month for many former Ballena Vista Farm residents, their owners/breeders & our clients, as the victors had their photographs taken in the Winners' Circle at racetracks in Southern California and around the country! We offer “Congratulations!” to our clients who are the owners, breeders and/or trainers of these notable equine athletes! Following are just a few of their “Success Stories”!
Fair Kisses ('07 DkB/Br Filly by Southern Image out of Fair Kris, by Kris S.) won a Maiden Claiming Race at Santa Anita going One Mile on the all weather track. Owned at one point by former BVF client, Richard O'Neill, the filly chased a bit off the rail, angled in going into the stretch, took the lead deep in the stretch and inched away for the win.
Delatore ('06 Bay Gelding by Redattore (BRZ) out of Officer Lea, by Nodouble) won a Maiden Claiming Race at Sunland Park going Six Furlongs on the dirt. Owned at one point by former BVF clients, Brad McLellan, David Roellich, and Ted Serna, the gelding progressed wide through the turn, took the advantage near the sixteenth pole and was clear for the win.
Jamieson ('05 Chestnut Horse by Unusual Heat out of Flyindownbaylaurel, by Alphabet Soup) won a Claiming Race at Philadelphia Park going Five and One Half Furlongs on the dirt. Owned at one point by former BVF clients, Huston, & Johnson-Stoll, the horse moved up to the leader on the outside in the stretch and held off a challenge under urging for the win.
Annihilation ('06 Bay Filly by Northern Afleet out of Exhilaration, by Storm Cat) won the Clocker's Corner H. Stakes going about Six and One Half Furlongs on the downhill turf. Owned by former BVF clients, Jeff Davenport, Tom Lenner, William Strauss, and Alex Solis, Jr., the filly settled off the leaders, chased inside down the hill, was three wide into the stretch, rallied from the far outside and got the win in the final jumps.
Otto Von Voom ('07 DkB/Br Colt by Skimming out of Vee Voom (NZ), by Exploding Prospect) won the Tempe H. Stakes going One Mile on the turf. Owned by BVF client, Hart-Win Stable, the colt challenged the lead on the second turn, dueled past the sixteenth pole and took the win.
Faithful Beau ('06 DkB/Br Gelding by Beau Genius out of Crowning Faith (IRE), by Spend a Buck) won a Claiming Race going One and One Sixteenth Miles on the dirt at Sunland Park. Bred by Ballena Vista Farm, the gelding stalked the pace, went between rivals as he went for the lead, took the lead near the sixteenth pole and held for the win with a little asking.
Our Stallions had several of their progeny win some nice races this month, here are some of the highlights:
BEAU GENIUS
Beaudacious Lady ('06 DkB/Br Filly o/o Serena's Ruhl, by Ruhlmann) won a Claiming Race going Six Furlongs on the dirt at Turf Paradise. The filly advanced on the outside through the turn, went four wide into the stretch and held gamely at the wire for the win.
California Colonel ('07 DkB/Br Colt o/o Honor Her Presence, by Incinderator) won a Maiden Claiming Race going One and One Sixteenth Miles on the all weather track at Santa Anita. The colt moved up the inside, gained a small advantage into the second turn, edged away and held under urging for the win.
SEA OF SECRETS
Hayley's Halo ('07 DkB/Br Filly o/o Hilo Halo, by Peaks and Valleys) finished a strong second in the $200,000 Sunland Park Oaks going a mile and one-sixteenth. She set a strong pace and stayed on well to gain her first black-type. She has won or placed in five races and has earned $83,860.
Senorita's Secrets ('04 DkB/Br Mare o/o Alezan Dore, by Singular) won a Claiming Race going Six Furlongs on the dirt at Beulah Park . The mare dueled for the lead and took control in the stretch to draw clear for the win under firm handling.
Back to Therapy ('06 DkB/Br Filly o/o Esthers Ball, by Party Manners) won a Claiming Race at Philadelphia Park going Five Furlongs on the dirt. The filly went after the leaders from the outside through the midstretch and drew clear for the win.
Cashy Secrets ('06 DkB/Br Filly o/o Cashy Rich, by Dignitas) won a Claiming Race at Charles Town Races & Slots going Six and One Half Furlongs on the dirt. The filly stalked the pace, went for the lead just inside the eighth pole and edge clear past the sixteenth pole for the win.
Wollaston Bay ('04 Chestnut Horse o/o Wollaston's Baby, by Wollaston) won a Claiming Race at Aqueduct going Six Furlongs on the inner track. The horse set the early pace, drew off under right handed encouragement and took the win.
Hayley's Halo ('07 DkB/Br Filly o/o Hilo Halo, by Peaks and Valleys) won an Allowance Race at Sunland Park going Six Furlongs on the dirt. The filly was five wide down the backstretch, gained a clear lead and held well for the win.
DEPUTY COMMANDER
He's a Big Daddy ('05 DkB/Br Gelding o/o Jeano, by Fappiano) took victory in a Starter Allowance Race on the dirt at Beulah Park going One and One Sixteenth Miles. He rallied into the stretch for the lead and held late for the win.
Lord in Command ('05 Bay Gelding o/o Lord Remember Me, by Lord At War (ARG)) won a Claiming Race at Golden Gate Fields going Five and One Half Furlongs on the all weather track. The gelding got a slow start but hustled for the lead, dueled to the stretch, and drew away for the win.
Convexity ('00 DkB/Br Gelding o/o Fine Dining, by State Dinner) won a Claiming Race at Beulah Park going One Mile and Seventy Yards on the dirt. The gelding stalked the pace, rallied into the stretch, dueled for the lead, and went all out to win.
Timely Command ('04 Bay Mare o/o Tim ely Deposit, by Deposit Ticket) won a Claiming Race at Fair Grounds going about One Mile on the turf. The mare moved up going three wide around the turn, went to the lead in the final furlong and held for the win.
Perus Queen ('05 DkB/Br Mare o/o Cherokee Float, by Cherokee Run) won an Optional Claiming Race at Fair Grounds going One and One Sixteenth Miles on the dirt. The mare moved clear to the inside on the first turn, set the pace after that, and kept to the task for the win.
Dubai Gold ('03 Chestnut Gelding o/o Silky Finish, by A.P. Indy) won an Allowance Optional Claiming Race at Gulfstream Park going One and One Fourth Miles on the dirt. The gelding angled to the outside for the stretch, then rallied to win at the wire.
Runnin Da Fences ('05 DkB/Br Gelding o/o You Just Watch Me, by Spectacular Bid) won an Allowance Optional Claiming Race at Tampa Bay Downs going Six and One Half Furlongs on the dirt. The gelding dueled for the lead from the start, held off the competition and pulled away late in the stretch for the win. |
