SEA OF SECRETS

An extremely talented son of Storm Cat, SEA OF SECRETS was undefeated at two, and at three captured the San Vicente Stakes (G2), and a Hollywood Park Allowance race, which he took by 8½ lengths over Champion Sprinter Artax, while running a 110 Beyer.

With his first three crops, SEA OF SECRETS has already sired 57 winners with earnings of over $2,800,000, including four stakes winners and five stakes placed horses.

SEA OF SECRETS is out of Love From Mom, a multiple graded stakes producing daughter of Mr. Prospector. The Storm Cat cross with mares from the Mr. Prospector line has already produced more than 60 stakes winners, and breeding SEA OF SECRETS back over Mr. Prospector line mares, to give inbreeding to that horse looks very appealing. In fact Sea of Secrets has already sired stakes winner Wamnfuzzyfeelin out of a mare by a son of Fappiano and stakes placed Sea of Promises out of a mare by Crafty Prospector. Storm Cat has also worked well with mares descending from Mr. Prospector’s sire, Raise a Native through Exclusive Native and Affirmed, and through Alydar, and SEA OF SECRETS has already sired a stakes performer out of a mare by Alydar’s son, Saratoga Six.

SEA OF SECRETS also looks a good candidate form mares from the male line of  Seattle Slew. The Storm Cat/Seattle Slew cross has produced eighteen stakes winners eight of them graded, and in addition to Seattle Slew himself has already worked through A.P. Indy, Seattle Song, Slewpy, General Meeting and Gold Legend. Seattle Slew is a Nasrullah line horse, and other Nasrullah lines have done well with Storm Cat and sons. We can note that the cross of Storm Cat with Blushing Groom line mares has already produced six group or grade one winners including Giant’s Causeway. There are also eight stakes winners by Storm Cat and his sons out of mares from the Caro branch of the Nasrullah line. Nasrullah’s three-parts-brother, Royal Charger, founded his own male line through Turn-to and Hail to Reason. Storm Cat has worked with this line through Halo and Stop the Music and his son, Cure the Blues.

Storm Cat and his sons have crossed well over In Reality line mares. SEA OF SECRETS is sire of a stakes winner out of a mare by In Reality’s son, Valid Appeal, and a stakes winner out of a mare by Skywalker, who is a son of the In Reality stallion, Relaunch. Skywalker could be brought in through his son, Bertando, and Relaunch is also available through Cee’s Tizzy.

Storm Cat and his sons have also been very successful with mares from the Damascus line, and sources which particularly appeal include Private Account, Time For a Change, Ogygian and Eastern Echo.

We would also look to Sea of Secrets to work well with mares descending from Ribot through Graustark, His Majesty and Tom Rolfe and his son, Hoist the Flag.
