NOVEMBER 2005

NOTATE ('99 bay gelding o/o Grace Note, by Miswaki) responded well in the drive after trailing early to win a NW1YX mile race for 3yo's & up on 11/4 at Turf Paradise. The veteran gelding now sports a lifetime line of 10-5-12 from 57 trips to the post.. Owner: Marcus Haile. /Breeders: Edmond & Sharon Hudon in CA.

HAPPY ZONE ('02 dkb/br gelding o/o Happy's Gift, by Pirate's Bounty) won a NW2L race at Golden Gate Fields on 11/6. Though he shifted out in upper stretch, he rallied steadily to gain command and drew clear driving in the 6f race for 3yo's & up, and rewarded his supporters with a nice $22 win payoff. OCTOBER 2005

FIELD SURVEYOR ('01 bay filly o/o Field Musician, by Hyperborean) came two wide to the stretch then edged away under strong urging to win a NW2L 6f race for F&M 3yo & up at Bay Meadows on 10/1. It was the second victory in six starts for the lightly raced filly. Owner/Breeders: Jeff Glenn & Glenn Culver in CA.

FIERY COLONY ('99 chestnut gelding o/o Fiery Jezebel, by Bates Motel), off since June, made his return to the track a winning one on 10/2 at Turf Paradise. The game gelding, finding the winners' circle for the fifth career time in the 6f race for 3yo's & up, also has ten other on-the-board finishes in his 28 race career. Owners: Norine & Dennis Grenier. MYTEE N BLUE ('01 dkb/br gelding o/o Royal Blue Slew, by Slew's Royalty) waited for room while boxed in turning from home and eased out for a clear path in midstretch to win a 5½f race over a sloppy track at Turf Paradise on 10/18. Owner: Gary D. Nelson. Breeders: Brenda & Richard Behrens in AZ.

SEPTEMBER 2005

NOTATE ('99 bay gelding o/o Grace Note, by Miswaki) took charge on the far turn and drew off by eight lengths to win a NW19MX one mile race for 3yo's & up at Yavapai Downs on 9/3. AUGUST 2005

ROAD GOESONFOREVER ('99 bay gelding o/o Kuduza, by Strawberry Road (Aus)) took charge before the opening quarter, opened a long lead on the turn and was ridden out the final furlong while in no danger as he won a 6f race at Arizona's Yavapai Downs on 8/14. Owner/Breeders: Rancho Electraglide, Inc. in AZ.

STAR OF STAGE ('99 dkb/br gelding o/o Starlit Bronze, by General Assembly) rallied four wide from the middle of the pack, responded in the drive and proved best under steady handling to notch a win at Arapahoe Park on 8/27 going 6f in a NW3L race for 3yo's & up. He is a graduate of the 2001 Barretts Limited spring sale of 2yo's in training. The winner is a half brother to a 2005 colt by Beau Genius. Owner: Doyle Huber. Breeders: Carl & Olivia Cannata in CA.

MYTEE N BLUE ('01 dkb/br gelding o/o Royal Blue Slew, by Slew's Royalty) led gate-to-wire to win a NW13MX race at Yavapai Downs on 8/29. After working consecutive bullets in the two preceeding weeks, the gelding was poised for a good effort and responded to win by seven lengths over five other 3yo's & up going 5½f. Owner:Gary D. JULY 2005

MYTEE N BLUE, multiple winner o/o Royal Blue Slew, recorded a 3f work in 34:20 at Yavapai Downs on 7/29. It was the best of eleven for the day. She and her full sister My Blue Scooter, also a multiple winner, will return to Turf Paradise when that meeting opens next month.

JUNE 2005

STAGE GLITTER ('01 bay filly o/o Enid, by Moscow Ballet) rallied after being four wide at the quarter pole to get up at the wire to win a NW3L 6½f race for 3yo & up F&M at Arlington Park on 6/19. The victory by the filly was her third in nine starts; she also has two other on-the-board finishes to her credit. Owner: Rogers Ranch. Breeders: Sharon & Edmond Hudon in CA.

FIERY COLONY ('99 chestnut gelding o/o Fiery Jezebel, by Bates Motel) took charge in upper stretch to hold on by a neck at the finish of a claiming race for 3yo's & up going 6f at Yavapai Downs on 6/28 to notch his fourth lifetime win. He also has placed twice and had six showings in his 23 race career. Owner: Norine & Dennis Granier. Breeders: Carl & Olivia Cannata in CA.

HAPPY ZONE ('02 dkb/br gelding o/o Happy's Gift, by Pirate's Bounty) broke his maiden on 6/30 as he drew clear from nine other 3yo's in a 5½f race at Pleasanton in his sixth lifetime start, doubling his lifetime earnings. Owner/Breeders: Dick Chase & Alan W. Cox in CA.

MAY 2005

STAGE PLAYER ('99 bay gelding o/o Ole Sis, by Ole) continues to rehab for his return to the races after going to the sidelines late last year. He had eight wins in 2004 and was his sire's leading money winner for the year.

Stage Colony's current runners were "stuck in second" last month, with Lovethatchocolate, My Blue Scooter and Road Goesonforever just missing getting their pictures taken in the winners' circle. Look for them to improve next time out.

Some of the very nice foals who hope to become Stage Colony's future runners had their pictures submitted to the CTBA for inclusion into the June issue of that organization's monthly magazine's "Foals of 2005" feature. Photos of foals by Stage Colony out of mares by Slewpy, Saint Ballado and Dumaani, as well as photos of several outstanding 2005 foals by Beau Genius and Surachai, were submitted for acceptance.....check out the feature to see which ones captured the fancy of the CTBA !!

APRIL 2005

CRYSTAL COLONY ('99 dkb/br gelding o/o Crystal Memory, by Crystal Water) stalked the pace from the two path to the far turn, then drew clear & finished under urging to win a NW2Y+ race at Penn National on 4/1. It was the gelding's 16th on-the-board finish out of 33 starts. Owner: Fire N Ice Stable. Breeders: Carl & Olivia Cannata in CA.

SIRACOQUE ('00 dkb/br mare o/o Royal Isle, by Loyal Double) prompted the pace inside after being shuffled back early on the second turn, bid three deep into the stretch & gained the advantage past the eight pole to draw clear under a strong hand ride & a long hold late to gain her seventh lifetime win from 24 starts. The one mile race for F&M 4yo's & up was run on 4/13 at Santa Anita Park. Owner: Jeffrey Sengara. Breeders: Enzo Canelo in CA.

MARCH 2005

MY BLUE SCOOTER ('00 bay mare o/o Royal Blue Slew, by Slew's Royalty) stalked, bid and drew clear by five lengths to win a one mile race for 4yo & up F & M on 3/6 at Turf Paradise. The winning time was 1:37.24, and she returned $17.40 on a $2 win ticket. Owners: Terry S. Roberts & Pat M. Boccio. Breeders: Richard & Brenda Behrens in AZ.

STAGE GLITTER ('01 bay filly o/o Enid, by Moscow Ballet) was forwardly placed, came three wide down the backstretch, made her bid on the second turn and drew off driving to finish six lengths ahead of nine other 3yo & up F & M in a one mile NW2L race at Turfway Park on 3/30. The win was the filly's second in five starts; she also has a third place finish to her credit. Owner: Hillcrest Racing. Breeders: Sharon & Ed Hudon in CA.

FEBRUARY 2005

MYTEE N BLUE ('01 dkb/br gelding o/o Royal Blue Slew, by Slew's Royalty) was a gate to wire winner on 2/23 at Turf Paradise in a NW3L 5 ½f race. Run over a sloppy track in cloudy weather, the betting favorite notched his third victory and his eleventh on-the-board finish. Owner: San Tan Tillage, Inc. Breeders: Brenda & Richard Behrens in AZ.

JANUARY 2005

SIRACOQUE (‘00 dkb/br mare o/o Royal Isle, by Loyal Double) followed up last month's win with another victory, this time at Santa Anita in a one mile race for 4yo & up fillies and mares on 1/12. It was the mare's fifth lifetime victory and the first for her new connections, pushing her lifetime bankroll towards the $100K mark. Owner: Hess, Jr. and Tsakonas. Breeder: Enzo Canelo in CA.

MAMACAFE (‘99 dkb/br mare o/o Windy Tate, by Agitate) came from last at the half mile pole to win a 6½ f race on 1/19 at Turf Paradise. The victory over a fast track and six other fillies & mares 4yo & up was the mare's sixth lifetime and increased her earnings to over $82K. Owner: British Mist Racing. Breeder: Sandy Mattei in CA.

CRYSTAL COLONY (‘99 dkb/br gelding o/o Crystal Memory, by Crystal Water) won his third lifetime race by taking a one mile & 70 yard NW1Y+ event at Penn National Race Course on 1/20. NOTATE (‘99 bay gelding o/o Grace Note, by Miswaki) challenged for the lead, finished well and edged clear late to win a NW1YX mile race at Turf Paradise on 12/5 over eight rival 3yo's & up. It was the gelding's 21st on-the-board finish out of 46 races. Owner: Marcus Haile. Breeders: Edmond & Sharon Hudon.

SIRACOQUE (‘00 dkb/br filly o/o Royal Isle, by Loyal Double) went postward on 12/15 at Hollywood Park as the high weight in a mile & 1/16th race for fillies & mares 3yo & up. She won the race easily over four other entrants, and was claimed by trainer Bob Hess, Jr. Owner: Carlo Fisco. Breeder: Enzo Canelo in CA.

PORT HUENEME (‘00 gray/roan gelding o/o Enid, by Moscow Ballet) followed up the maiden win last month by his full sister Stage Glitter with a victory of his own at Turfway Park on 12/9. Sent off as the heavy favorite, he raced four wide into the first turn, then edged clear at the end of the NW2L mile & 1/16th race for 3yo's & up. He was claimed for $30K off his win by trainer Lynn S. Whiting. Owner/breeders: Edmond & Sharon Hudon in CA.

MYTEE N BLUE (‘01 dkb/br gelding o/o Royal Blue Slew, by Slew's Royalty) wired the field in a NW2L 6f race for 3yo's & up on 12/14 at Turf Paradise. He sped to the lead with fractions of 22.10 and 44.73 to best the place horse by a 1½ lengths. Owner: Blackjack Stables LLC. Breeders: Brenda & Richard Behrens in AZ.

NOVEMBER 2004

BLACK BART(‘99 dkb/br gelding o/o Lyrical Pirate, by Pirate's Bounty) crushed a field of eight rivals by seven lengths as the 3-10 favorite at Turf Paradise on 11/6 as he won his FIFTH Stakes race of 2004. This one, the Walter R. Cluer Memorial Handicap, was run at 7½f on the turf and increased Black Bart's lifetime earnings to over $346 in nine winning efforts. Owner: Thomas F. STAGE PLAYER (‘99 bay gelding o/o Ole Sis, by Ole) won for the EIGHTH time this year on 11/13 at Hollywood Park as he led all the way going a mile and a sixteenth on the turf. He is his sire's leading money earner this year and is closing in on nearly half a million dollars earned lifetime. In addition to his eight wins this year, he has placed twice and also has a third place finish. The durable veteran has won or placed at both sprint and route distances at six different racetracks this year. Owner: Robert D. Bone. Breeders: Brian Bartch, Barbara Dutton & Thomas R. MISS DOUBLE DOTS (‘00 dkb/br filly o/o Hawks' Heather, by Silver Hawk) came from off the pace to take a nice Allowance (SNW1X) race by a nose for fillies & mares 3yo & up going a mile an a sixteenth on the turf at Hollywood Park on 11/14. The mile and a sixteenth race for fillies and mares 3yo & up was run in a time of 1:44.18. The $23,400 winner's share enabled the filly to become her sire's third leading lifetime money earner. STAGE GLITTER (‘01 bay filly o/o Enid, by Moscow Ballet) gave her owner/breeders something to smile about during their recent visit to Kentucky as she broke her maiden at Churchill Downs on 11/17. The win, in just her second start (following up a third place finish in her first outing), came at 6f on a fast track. MY BLUE SCOOTER (‘00 bay filly o/o Royal Blue Slew, by Slew's Royalty) took over the lead at the half-mile pole and pulled away for a length and a quarter victory at Turf Paradise on 11/19. Sent off at double digit odds again by the betting public, the bay miss stretched out to a mile in the claiming race for 3yo's & up fillies & mares. The win was the filly's seventh in 24 lifetime starts, and lit up the tote board returning $66.80 to win. Owner: Terry S. Roberts & Pat M. Boccio. Breeders: Brenda & Richard Behrens in AZ.

LOVETHATCHOCOLATE (‘99 dkb/br mare o/o Chocolate Dreamer, by Romeo) closed out another great month for her sire's progeny as she crushed nine rivals by over seven lengths in a 11/30 NW3L race for 3yo & up fillies & mares at Turf Paradise. She was also dismissed by the betting public, going off at 22-1, second highest odds in the field. Owner: Jacqueline White & Patricia Shirley. Breeders: Dr. & Mrs. Dale E. Shirley in AZ.
